Target Audience

This extension course in auriculotherapy is aimed at health and wellness professionals (therapists, estheticians, massage therapists) and anyone interested in learning and starting practice. It is an excellent therapeutic resource that complements and enhances the effects of other techniques such as massage, nutritional re-education, rehabilitation in physiotherapy, psychotherapy, among others, as it helps reduce pain, anxiety disorders, stress, and food compulsions.

Justification

To encourage the National Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices by offering training in Auriculotherapy to health professionals and the general community.

General Objective

The Extension Course in Auriculotherapy aims to train Auriculotherapists capable of practicing therapeutic techniques.

Specific Objectives

  • Promote practical and theoretical knowledge in Auricular Acupuncture
  • Present the effectiveness of the auricular microsystem for treating physical and/or mental disorders
  • Ensure the professional can conduct a thorough assessment for their patient's treatment
  • Equip the professional for diagnosis and treatment, promoting the patient's balance and well-being

Curriculum Content

[title-dropdown] Module 1 - Basic Principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) [/title-dropdown]

This module aims to help students understand health from the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with an integrative view of the individual (physical, mental, psychological) and the environment, and to learn the basic principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, such as: the theory of Yin and Yang, the Theory of the Five Elements, concepts of meridians, and Zang Fu.

This module aims to help students understand how to incorporate Auriculotherapy into their daily practice as an integrative and complementary technique. Learn about the different materials used in Auriculotherapy and develop technical skills for its application, as well as familiarize with the auricular pavilion and its corresponding points.

This module aims to help students develop their treatment protocols through discussions of clinical cases, studies of scientific articles, and practical experience in providing care, conducting anamneses, exploring treatment methods, selecting auricular points, and formulating effective protocols, thereby understanding the step-by-step process for delivering excellent care.

Renata Rübensam

Renata Rübensam holds a postgraduate degree in Acupuncture from the University of Southern Santa Catarina - UNESC/Faculty of Health Technology - CIEPH, a postgraduate degree in Hematology and Laboratory Hemotherapy from the University of Southern Santa Catarina - UNISUL/HEMOSC, and a postgraduate degree in Aesthetic Pharmacy from Unyleya. She is currently a master's student in the Environmental Sciences program at UNESC and a member of the research group at the Medicinal Plants Laboratory (Laplam). Renata graduated in Pharmacy, specializing in Clinical Analysis, from UNISUL. In addition to her academic background, she has completed courses in Auriculotherapy: Diagnosis and Treatment and Emergency First Aid - “Use of Techniques According to Natural Medicine” (2024). She is currently enhancing her skills in Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine and Oncological Acupuncture. She works as an integrative and complementary therapist, utilizing techniques such as Auriculotherapy, Yamamoto's New Craniopuncture, Acupuncture, Cupping Therapy, and Moxibustion.

Beatriz Uggioni

Beatriz Sonai holds a postgraduate degree in Acupuncture from the Faculty of Health Technology - CIEPH and a postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy from Medlex. She is currently a master's student in the Environmental Sciences program at UNESC and a member of the Medicinal Plants research group (LAPLAM). She graduated in Biomedicine from the University of Southern Santa Catarina - UNESC. In addition to her academic background, Beatriz has completed various professional development courses, including: Infertility according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (2022), Semiotics, Diagnosis, and Treatment in Classical Traditional Medicine (2021), Basic Course – The 5 Biological Laws and the Healing Science of Dr. Geerd Hamer (2019), Basic Training Course in Auriculotherapy – Modules I and II: Diagnosis and Treatment (2019), Auriculotherapy in Emotional Disorders (2018), Integrative Aromatherapy (2019), Yamamoto's New Craniopuncture (2018), and Course on Analgesia through Invasive and Non-Invasive Electroacupuncture / Magnetopuncture / Oriental Taping (2018). She currently works as an integrative and complementary therapist, utilizing techniques such as Auriculotherapy, Aromatherapy, Yamamoto's New Craniopuncture, Acupuncture, Cupping Therapy, and Moxibustion.
