Justification

This course offers a unique opportunity for students to learn about the best practices and techniques in the field of programming and preliminary sizing of health-related buildings.

General Objective

To practice the development of the needs program and the preliminary sizing of health assistance facilities based on RDC-50/2002.

Specific Objectives

  • To understand the Technical Regulation for planning, programming, developing, and evaluating physical projects of health assistance facilities;
  • To guide the development of projects based on Resolution RDC-50;
  • To size environments of health assistance facilities based on the manuals from SOMASUS.

Dr. Jorge Luiz Vieira

He holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1983), a master's degree in Geography from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2001), and a PhD in Architecture, with a concentration in architectural and urban design, and a research focus on architectural typologies and urban morphology, from the Graduate Program in Architecture - PROPAR, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2017). He is currently a full-time professor at the University of Southern Santa Catarina, under a CLT contract. He has experience in the field of Architecture and Urbanism, with an emphasis on urban design, housing, and social interest housing projects. He served as the head of the Urban Planning Department of the Municipal Government of Seara from 1986 to 1988, and as the head of the Urban Planning Department (DPU) of the Municipal Government of Criciúma from 1989 to 1992. He was the technical coordinator of the Basic Plan for Ecological-Economic Development (PBDEE) of the Association of Municipalities of the Carboniferous Region (AMREC) from 1992 to 1997. He was the founder and coordinator of the Architecture and Urbanism Course at Unesc from 2003 to 2012. He coordinated the Permanent Multidisciplinary Extension Project Healthy and Sustainable Habitat - Cidade Alta Neighborhood - Forquilhinha/SC from 2009 to 2012. He was the general coordinator of the I OPUR (I International Urban Design Workshop of Urussanga/SC) in 2007. He was the General Coordinator of the II OPUR - Balneário Rincão - Municipality of Içara/SC in 2009. He coordinated segment 05-Rincão of the Vita et Otium Project, developed by the Silva Paes Institute, from 2010 to 2011. He was the Pedagogical Coordinator of the Architecture Course at Unesc. He has been the leader of the Research Group on Housing, Public Space, and City since December 18, 2014. He was the managing partner of the company Via Urbi Vieira Architecture and Urbanism Ltda. from 1998 to 2020.
