Target Audience

Individuals interested in photography, with or without professional equipment. The course is designed for those who want to learn how to take great photos with the resources they have, in a creative, practical, and accessible way.

Justification

This course is an invitation to awaken and develop the photographic eye of photography enthusiasts. The idea is to present, in a practical and accessible manner, the fundamentals of photographic language — including concepts of composition, framing, light, and visual narrative — using both cameras and smartphones.
The proposal aims to promote more creative, intentional, and high-quality recordings, whether for personal use, artistic expression, or enhancing content on social media.

General Objective

To help participants enhance their photographic eye and learn, in a practical and light-hearted way, how to better use their equipment, whether it's a smartphone camera or a professional camera.

Specific Objectives

  • Understand the basic principles of photography.
  • Apply rules of photographic composition.
  • Recognize the importance of light in constructing photographic images.
  • Experiment with different types of framing in photo production.
  • Know and use applications for image editing.
  • Apply basic techniques of photographic editing.

  • What it means to photograph: see, feel, and record
  • Differences between professional, semi-professional, and smartphone cameras

  • Rule of thirds and symmetry
  • Lines, planes, vanishing points
  • Natural light and shadow: how to use them to enhance the image
  • Perspective and movement

  • Basic technical concepts (focus, ISO, aperture, shutter speed)
  • Functions of smartphone cameras (portrait mode, night mode, macro, etc.)
  • Manual adjustments in DSLR cameras

  • Quick editing with free apps
