Target Audience

Athletes, coaches, sports managers, law students and professionals, physical education teachers, and those interested in understanding the legal dimensions of contemporary sports.

Justification

Sports is a significant social, cultural, and economic phenomenon, and its legal regulation has proven essential in light of the growth of the sports market and new demands related to ethics, governance, contracts, doping, and technology. Sports Law, as an autonomous branch, encompasses specific principles, norms, and practices, requiring specialized training for professionals working in both the legal field and sports management.

The course proposal aims to bridge legal knowledge with the reality of athletes and sports agents, empowering them to understand their rights and duties, as well as promoting dialogue between law and sports from an educational and civic perspective.

General Objective

To promote theoretical and practical training in Sports Law, enabling participants to understand and apply the main legal instruments that regulate sports in Brazil and internationally.

Specific Objectives

  • To understand the foundations and principles of Sports Law;
  • To know the national sports legislation (Pelé Law, General Sports Law, SAF Law, Brazilian Sports Justice Code, among others);
  • To analyze the functioning of Sports Justice and its procedures;
  • To discuss contractual, labor, and civil relations involving athletes and clubs;
  • To study civil liability in sports and prevention mechanisms;
  • To reflect on the impacts of innovation and technology (AI and eSports) on Sports Law;
  • To apply legal knowledge to practical cases and simulations of sports processes.
