Over the years, the PPGCA has been establishing itself internationally, mainly through partnerships and agreements with university institutions; selection calls for international candidates; regular opportunities for PPGCA faculty to undertake postdoctoral internships; participation of faculty and students in international conferences; publications in international journals, translations of books, and contributions to collective works.

The CSIC, in accordance with Article 47 of Law 14/2011, of June 1, on Science, Technology and Innovation ("Science Law"), is a public research organization (PRO) currently established as a State Agency and linked to the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the General Secretariat for Research. Its purpose is to promote, coordinate, develop, and disseminate scientific and technological research of a multidisciplinary nature, in order to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and to economic, social, and cultural development, as well as to the training of personnel and advising public and private entities in this field.

The University of Santiago de Compostela is a public university located in the city of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. It is divided into four campuses — three in the city of Santiago (North Campus, South Campus, and Historic Campus) and one located in Lugo. It was founded in 1495, making it the main and oldest university in Galicia, the seventh oldest in the Iberian Peninsula, and one of the oldest universities in the world. It comprises 19 faculties.
