Unesc master's student takes over the Social Assistance Department of Içara

The master's student of the Graduate Program in Socioeconomic Development (PPGDS) at Unesc and councilman Higor Robetti was sworn in this Thursday morning (10/22) as the municipal secretary of Social Assistance, Housing, Work, and Income in Içara. The ceremony took place at the city hall, attended by the mayor and vice mayor, council members, municipal secretaries, municipal administration staff, and community members. Unesc was represented by the Vice-Rector of Education, Graziela Giacomazzo.

Upon assuming the position, Robetti emphasized the responsibility of leading the department and the connection between academic training and the challenges of public management, especially in serving people in situations of social vulnerability.

"It is a great joy and responsibility. Also as a master's student of the PPGDS at Unesc, I want to put into practice what we have learned, promoting economic development always linked to social aspects. This means guiding people in vulnerable situations towards a dignified life through employment, work, and the necessary assistance," he stated.

The new secretary also highlighted the importance of the partnership with the University for the development of the work. "For me, it is an honor, and I will certainly rely heavily on Unesc for this," he added.

The work in the Secretary involves strategic areas for the social development of the municipality, such as assistance to families, access to housing, and the creation of opportunities through work and income generation.
