Unesc receives recognition at the IEL Talents Award

Unesc received the participation certificate and award at the IEL Talent Award, promoted by the Euvaldo Lodi Institute of Santa Catarina (IEL/SC). In its first participation in the initiative, the University achieved fifth place among seven institutions registered in the Innovative Education category – Undergraduate Level, with the performance of the Internship sector.

The award recognizes projects and initiatives focused on innovation developed by interns, researchers, companies, and educational institutions. In the category designated for educational institutions, the evaluation considers aspects related to the structure of internship programs, support mechanisms for students, partnerships with companies, monitoring of students, evaluation of experiences, and tracking of graduates.

According to the acting rector of Unesc, Gisele Silveira Coelho Lopes, participation in the award represents an opportunity to showcase practices developed by the University and identify areas for improvement.

“The first participation allows us to understand the award criteria, present the work developed by Unesc, and, most importantly, identify ways to advance. The recognition received demonstrates that important practices are being developed and can be enhanced for future editions,” says Gisele.

Participation places the work developed by Unesc in the Internship sector among the initiatives analyzed by IEL/SC. The result also establishes a benchmark for the University’s future participation in the award.

The Secretary of State for Education and licensed rector of Unesc, Luciane Bisognin Ceretta, emphasizes the importance of bridging academic training and professional reality. “The internship experience integrates education, professional practice, and relationships with the job market. The recognition from IEL/SC values work that is part of the academic journey and helps prepare students for various professional challenges,” highlights Luciane.

The Innovative Education category specifically considers the ability of educational institutions to strengthen the relationship between education and the job market. The evaluation encompasses everything from the organization of internships to the strategies used to monitor students and graduates.

“Being among the top five in the IEL Talent Award in our first participation is a reason for celebration for all of Unesc. This achievement in the Innovative Education category reflects the daily commitment and strategic vision with which Unesc Carreiras conducts our students' internship journey. I would like to especially recognize the leadership of our manager Izabel Cristina Guidi and the dedication of all the collaborators, whose committed work makes a difference in the lives of our students. Furthermore, this result was only possible thanks to the continuous support of the Senior Management, which provides resources and autonomy for the sector to continue growing and innovating in preparing our students for the job market,” emphasizes the Director of Student Support, Miquele Padula.
