Unesc participates in the 2nd National Meeting of ForGRAD 2026 in Florianópolis

The Forum of Undergraduate Deans (ForGRAD) brought together deans from across the country on September 24 and 25 at the University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) for two days of dialogue on evaluation, curriculum, and the future of undergraduate education in Brazil. The meeting took place at the Tito Sena Auditorium, located in the Center for Human Sciences and Education (FAED) in Florianópolis. The agenda featured key topics relevant to higher education today.

For the Dean of Education, Graziela, the highlight of Thursday (September 24) was the National Student Performance Exam (Enade), where the impacts, challenges, and strategies for Higher Education Institutions (IES) and the new evaluation tool were discussed. The topic was presented by Suzi Mesquita Vargas, the general coordinator of Statistics and Indicators of Higher Education at the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep).

In the afternoon, the discussion focused on Rethinking the Curriculum: Flexibility, Challenges, and Opportunities, featuring the participation of the undergraduate deans from the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Waldenor Moraes, and the Dean of Education from the State University of Maringá (UEM), Walter Guedes da Silva.

On Friday (September 25), the event addressed Blended Learning: Challenges, Paths, and Solutions for Undergraduate Education, presented by Carlos Estevam Marcolini Rezende, the general coordinator of the Open University of Brazil System (UAB), and Rejane Correa da Rocha, the Dean of Undergraduate Education at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ). The meeting concluded with the panel Voice of the Regionals: Priorities, Demands, and Strategies, along with final recommendations.

According to the dean of Unesc, the university's presence at ForGRAD reinforces its institutional commitment to the quality of undergraduate education, curricular innovation, and the national alignment of educational policies.

"The event served as a strategic space for reflection and articulation of educational policies. The meeting enabled the sharing of actions among the deanships, facilitated qualified dialogue with regulatory bodies for higher education evaluation, and strengthened the guidelines for undergraduate education in the country," emphasized Graziela.
