The Unesc Childhood Museum welcomed 210 students from the Ilhota Municipal Elementary School (EMEF) in the municipality of Pedras Grandes between October 6 and 9. The visits included five classes from the 1st to the 5th grade of elementary school and marked the opening of the Children's Month activities at the museum, featuring cultural mediations and educational actions carried out over the four days.
Founded in 2005 and integrated into the State Museum System and the Brazilian Institute of Museums (Ibram), the space operates permanently in cultural dissemination. For many of the children visiting the University for the first time, the contact with the infrastructure and gardens provided an enchanting experience and an expansion of pedagogical horizons.
“Each child who arrives on campus and at the museum brings their own cultural background. The exchange with the teachers who schedule the visit and with the school staff accompanying the children is always very enriching,” highlights the coordinator of the Childhood Museum, Amalhene Baesso Reddig.
After the technical observation tour of the exhibited objects, the program extended to the museum's small park. The outdoor activities promoted the revival of traditional games and collective play, as well as a guided tour to identify flowers and fruit trees on the University campus, concluding with a picnic.
“Listening carefully and attentively to the children's expectations regarding the museum and their experiences with toys and games is a practice of ours that has been very successful. Working here is a joy and a pleasure,” emphasizes Amalhene.
According to the coordinator, mediated and free activities remain available for schools and other associations in the region throughout the year, with group bookings made directly through the link on the official Instagram profile @museudainfanciaunesc or through the institution's telephone service channels.
“Everyone is invited to visit the Childhood Museum, which is open to all audiences, has free access, and is free of charge,” she concluded.
