More than 6,500 high school students visited Unesc over the three days of Unesc Professions, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (September 30, October 1, and 2). Coming from different municipalities in southern Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, the visitors explored the University’s facilities, learned about admission possibilities, and had direct contact with various fields of study and professional practice.
The experience began at the José Antônio Carrilho Gymnasium, where students received information about Unesc, participated in interactive activities, and visited the course booths. Then, in smaller groups, they proceeded to engage directly with the courses of their interest, guided through the University’s spaces.
Laboratories, clinics, classrooms, and other environments used by students during their undergraduate studies were part of the tours. The aim was to bring visitors closer to the reality of each profession and allow them to experience a bit of university life in practice.
Students were able to see equipment, watch demonstrations, talk with professors, students, and professionals, and discover activities that are part of the daily life of different careers.
According to the acting rector, Gisele Silveira Coelho Lopes, this direct contact holds special significance for students facing career choices. "In smaller groups, it is possible to offer a more relaxed conversation, clarify doubts, and guide these young students about everything Unesc has to offer. This is a moment full of meaning, when we see the sparkle in the eyes of these visitors, the hope for a future of achievements, the realization of dreams, and the possibility of new doors opening through education. The feedback from this edition has been incredible," she emphasizes.
"It was a total success. Many students got to know the entire structure of Unesc, visualized all the admission possibilities and the University’s courses in a straightforward manner, and then had in-depth experiences in each course," highlights Unesc's commercial manager, Augusto Magalhães.
