Students in the 8th semester of the Biological Sciences Teaching degree participated in a field trip to Quinta da Estância in Viamão, Rio Grande do Sul, on Saturday (10/3). This activity was part of the Environmental Education and Pedagogical Processes in Nature Science Teaching courses, taught by professors Mainara Cascaes and Nathalia Coral Galvani.
The initiative is integrated into the Extension projects of the program, "Healthy Rivers, Strengthened Communities" and "(Re)Discovering School Science: Use and Potential of Science Laboratories."
"The activity provided students with an immersion in different environments, educational practices, and possibilities for interdisciplinary approaches, enhancing the discussions developed in the classroom and connecting theoretical knowledge to concrete situations," explains professor Mainara.
Following the visits, students will be required to develop an interdisciplinary pedagogical proposal, integrating different curricular components and establishing connections with the skills outlined in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC).
"This field experience allowed us to transform practice into learning, demonstrating that spaces outside the classroom are essential for environmental education," emphasized professor Nathalia.
