The Unesc Dance Company participated last Sunday (September 27) in the 24th edition of Dança Comigo Torres, held at the São Domingos Parish Hall in the city of Torres (RS). Presenting four choreographies, the Company won three first places, along with the awards for Best Dancer, Outstanding Choreographer, and Best Group of the Night.
The festival featured competitive dance performances aimed at promoting the dissemination and encouragement of the art of dance, cultural integration, technical development, and the appreciation of artistic creation as a form of cultural expression.
According to the coordinator and choreographer of the Dance Group, Paula Gregório Gonçalves, it was a very special Sunday for the Unesc Dance Company.
"Representing our University and our state and returning home with so many recognitions was very rewarding. More than the awards, I am happy to see all the effort and dedication of our dancers. Winning is wonderful, but the most important thing is everything we build together through dance. I am very grateful to Unesc for the trust and to the group for all their commitment," Paula emphasized.
For the coordinator of the Arts and Culture Sector of the University, Amalhene Baesso Reddig, affectionately called Lenita, the Dance Company is committed to valuing the artistic-cultural language of dance.
“Being on the stages of the regional dance festivals means bringing the Community University to multiple and diverse spaces. We take pride in contributing to the strengthening of regional culture, training professionals, and providing the opportunity to showcase our work on all stages in Santa Catarina and Brazil. We always fight for policies that promote access to culture, democratization, and access to popular artistic culture,” Lenita explained.
