Suzane von Richthofen case is the theme of a mock trial in the Psychology program

Students in the 10th semester of the Psychology program at Unesc conducted a mock trial of the Suzane von Richthofen case this Monday (09/27) as a practical activity for the Legal Psychology course, taught by Professor Laís Steiner.

The aim of this initiative is to bring students closer to the intersection of Psychology and Law in a dynamic and experiential way. According to the professor, practical experience is more effective than isolated theoretical reading.

"I start with an introduction and then we carry out the activity to understand the role of the psychologist, the role of the Judiciary, and how one can influence the other. Being a practical activity, it usually sticks better in their minds," she explained.

According to the instructor, the choice of high-profile cases is intentional, as these topics attract attention and are already familiar to the students, serving as a tool to engage them with the subject matter.

"From this initial interest, it becomes possible to clarify the roles of each participant, the ways of professional practice, and the progress of the legal process," Laís stated.
