The afternoon of this Friday (10/9) was a time for pause, care, and reconnection for Unesc employees. An initiative of the program Unesc Style of Well-Being and Coexistence, carried out in partnership with the Multiprofessional Center for Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (Cempics), invited participants to experience a moment dedicated to self-care, balance, and well-being.
On this, the first day of a series of weekly actions, participants were able to experience sessions of meditation, auriculotherapy, cranial acupuncture, manual therapy, and aromatherapy.
The meeting also marked the debut of a space specially prepared to welcome the institution's workers, at the Integrated Clinics of the University. Emotionally, Flávia Rigo, coordinator of Cempics, celebrated the occasion. “This is the first meeting we are holding in this new space, designed to warmly serve you. The proposal is to offer support and renewed energies, so that the experience represents a true breath of fresh air amidst the busy routine,” she emphasized.
According to the professor, the initiative aims to guide on practices that can be replicated at home, allowing these learnings to multiply the moments of well-being beyond the project's meetings.
The program's creator, former rector and educational advisor Edson Rodrigues, reminded those present of the purpose that motivated the creation of the initiative. “Unesc's mission is to ‘promote regional development to improve the quality of the living environment,’ and it is with the intention of strengthening this commitment that the program exists. We all are part of the environment, and it is important that we look inward, that we are well, to contribute to the whole,” he commented.
For Mariléia Maciel, manager of the Human Development Department (DDH) at Unesc, actions like this are part of the sector's commitment, which actively works for the well-being of employees, as a commitment to management. “Our Institution has this profile and is increasingly expanding the possibilities for colleagues to take moments to look inward. We are sure that this space will be a place of reconnection and renewal of energies for all of us,” she added.
Mariana Barbieri, an employee of Unesc for a year, participated for the first time in a practical activity focused on well-being. “I have participated in lectures and other actions promoted by the University, but I learned about this meeting and took the opportunity. I find this type of initiative very interesting. It is always very welcome. We come back more relaxed, even more motivated to give our best,” evaluated the administrative technician who enjoyed the experience with auriculotherapy, an alternative to help alleviate the headaches she experiences.
Cempics is an Extension project of Unesc that provides training and therapeutic integrative experiences through the work of professors and students. In addition to the techniques offered this afternoon, the center works with acupuncture, cupping therapy, moxibustion, foot reflexology, and reiki, expanding the possibilities of care aimed at physical and emotional well-being.
